10 Sep, 2010

The Alliance of Access to Information and Training Community Centres was officially registered in 2007, being founded by 47 centres.

The mission is to contribute to the consolidation of the information society and to the sustainable development of civil society by reducing the digital divide phenomenon and by involving citizens in the decision-making process.

As many as 102 Access to Information and Training Community Centres (AITCC) were created due to the financial support of the Soros Foundation Moldova (761,672 dollars) and the contribution of communities (395,000 dollars). Each centre owns or rents its office, possesses a printer, scanner, telephone-fax, photocopying machine, web camera and has Internet connection. The centres provide services of training and consultancy for about 300 settlements all over Moldova.
