Digital Competence Certification Community of Practice

ALL DIGITAL has been leading the discussion at European level regarding a homogeneous European framework for the assessment, validation and certification of digital competences. To this end, ALL DIGITAL has recently established and is maintaining the Certification Community of Practice (CoP), an international community of organizations and individuals with a strong interest in the certification of digital skills.

Participation in the Community of Practice is open to anyone who is interested in the certification of digital competences. If you would like to join, please register using the form below.

Communication and collaboration is done through a dedicated Basecamp group.

European Digital Skills Certificate 1st Consultation: Call for contributions to the design of the Feasibility Study

The recent Digital Education Action Plan (2021-2027) published last Sep 30th 2020, proposes as Action 9: to “Develop a European Digital Skills Certificate (EDSC) that may be recognised and accepted by governments, employers and other stakeholders across Europe. This would allow Europeans to indicate their level of digital competences, corresponding to the Digital Competence Framework proficiency levels”.  The execution of the Action will be guided and overseen by an EC internal inter-service Task Force led by DG EMPL.

The first task that the EC will undertake is the development of a Feasibility Study. We consider of upmost importance that the study involves stakeholders in all its crucial phases. Due to that, a series of consultations will take place.

This first consultation aims only at identifying your views on what are the key elements that should be included in the Feasibility Study. Namely:

  1. What is important to know about existing digital skills certification schemes and models in the EU?
  2. Which are the key stakeholders that need to be consulted for the EDSC feasibility study?
  3. Which aspects of the EDSC definition should be included in the study?
  4. Which aspects need to be included in the feasibility analysis?
  5. Which aspects of the pilot need to be considered/defined?
  6. Any other element that needs to be included in the Feasibility study?

The consultation will last until Friday 5 March 2021.

The consultation will make use of the Digital Competence Certification Community of Practice launched and supported by ALL DIGITAL.

For any request for information or clarification, please don’t hesitate to contact: Koen Nomden (koeno.nomden@ec.europa.eu ) at DG EMPL and Clara Centeno (clara.centeno@.ec.europa.eu) at the JRC, or send an email to certificate@all-digital.org.

We thank you for your collaboration, and we look forward to working with you in the definition of the EDSC!
