The response to Telecentre.org Foundation‘s call for entries to the 1st Global Telecentre Awards was overwhelming. As of the March 8 deadline, TCF received a total of 254 entries distributed in 6 different categories.

Of the total number of entries received, 48% are in Spanish, 37% in English, while the remaining 15% are a mixture of Arabic, Russian, and French. Over the next few weeks, these entries will be subjected to an initial screening process by a special panel of evaluators to determine the top 3 semifinalists in each category.

Following this, an online voting will be held in April through TCF’s community websites to enable members to show their support for the nominated entries of their choice. Entries with the highest number of votes will be declared as the Global Community’s Choice awardees.
