Over 250 Opinion Leaders Discussed Europe’s Digital Future at LIKTA’s Conference in Riga

16th LIKTA’s annual conference held on December 11th, 2014, gathered around 250 opinion leaders and decision makers from ICT industry, governmental organizations and civil society, including the European Commission’s (EC) Vice President of the Digital Single Market Andrus Ansip. The main conference theme was “Latvia’s role in the creation of EU digital future” which was dedicated to the Latvian Presidency of the European Union (EU) Council digital priorities.

Before the conference LIKTA discussed digital priorities of the Latvian presidency with EU Vice President Mr. Ansip

Mr. Andrus Ansip gave a keynote speech about “Digital Single Market – investing in the future”. His speech is available online.

Everything ready for ICT award ceremony 2014!

The Annual ICT award ceremony “Platinum Mouse 2014“ took place during LIKTA’s annual conference as well. The ceremony was moderated by Latvian Digital Champion Mr. Reinis Zitmanis and 42 finalists entered the competition for the awards in 4 categories:
1. E-Solutions for government
2. E-Solutions for business
3. Mobile applications
4. Best e-Facilitators/teachers

Mrs. Līga Krūmiņa, a primary school teacher from regional school in Aluksne was awarded the “Best E-teacher 2014“
