02 Aug Telecentre-Europe’s community members embrace the monthly Featured Members Contest

Since June 2012, Telecentre-Europe has been running a Featured Member Contest among the members of its community site. The contest already shows some results, as, while more members participate in the monthly contest, community activity promptly increases.
On June 1th, the Featured Member Contest was launched as an engagement strategy to highlight the site’s activity and to reward those members that keep the community alive with daily contributions. Participating members get their avatar featured and stay highlighted at the homepage until another community member starts contributing and they get kicked off from Telecentre-Europe’s “hall of fame”.
At the beginning of each month, the Featured Members count is set back to zero, waiting for (new) community members to participate and become “site-famous”. In this way, 14 community members became featured in June: for publishing blogposts, pictures & events or for sharing, commenting or attending different contributions posted by others. In July, the Featured Member Contest became even more popular, as 21 community members participated & became listed among July’s Featured Members.
