Smart Women kicks off in Malta

24 Feb, 2017

A new Erasmus+ KA2 project, called “Smart Women” kicked off in Malta at the offices of the Maltese Communications Authority. The project involves Telecentre Europe and six of its members: ‘Langas I Ateiti’ from Lithuania, LIKTA from Latvia, EOS from Romania, Dedalo Foundation for the Development of the Information Society from Spain, MCA from Malta, and one of our members from 2016, the Cyprus Computer Society. The project will last two years.

Smart Women focuses on activating women in e-commerce. It aims to design and deliver a training programme specialising in Entrepreneurship and eCommerce. The course targets women with some basic digital skills and a potential or existing business ideas. The project provides them with the necessary tools to transform a business idea into a successful enterprise. The course aims at increasing the knowledge and competences of female entrepreneurs who are still starting up in the area of electronic commerce and business, and thus improve the employment prospects or business opportunities for the participants.  This was also highlighted in the Entrepreneurship 2020 action plan proposing a renewed vision to support entrepreneurship in Europe.

Keep up to date with the development of the project on Telecentre Europe’s website and facebook channels, for more.
