Telecentre-Europe at the Media & Learning Conference

03 Dec, 2012

Representatives of Telecentre-Europe participated at the Media & Learning Conference that took place on 14-15 November in Brussels. The conference was an excellent opportunity to exchange the best practices of using media in formal and informal education, and to network with target organizations to disseminate the results of the recently launched Telecentre Multimedia Academy project leaded by Telecentre-Europe.

At the conference, speakers tried to answer the question whether new media will become a generator of changes in education and training. Especially  the provocative speech of Andrew Keen resounded, as he warned for the negative consequences of uncritical use of social networks and of an open platform for online learning.

During the conference, the finalists and winners of the MEDEA Awards for 2012 were presented. This now traditional award promotes excellence in production and pedagogical design of media for learning and teaching.
