Telecentre Europe Joins the Media and Learning Association

01 Dec, 2014

Telecentre Europe was officially accepted as a supporting network member of the Media & Learning Association last Friday, 21st November 2014 during the Annual General Meeting of the Association. Members of M&L General assembly voted in favour of our membership. This is part of a wider strategy for cooperation between the two networks in the field of promoting and teaching media literacy.

Multimedia is becoming an integral part of our daily lives and many telecentres teach citizens skills and competences needed for personal and professional growth. Among others, our Telecentre Multimedia Academies, were established with the objective to create quality multimedia trainings for beginners. 100 people have been already trained in audio and video creation in seven piloting Telecentre Multimedia Academies established so far.

As a supporting network member, Telecentre Europe will not have voting rights in the Media & Learning General assembly, but will nonetheless benefit from the opportunities to exchange good practice in teaching media literacy with the other members of the association, among which are many leading universities and companies working in the field.
