Portuguese Coalition for Digital Jobs Launched

24 Jun, 2015

Following the launch of 4 new national coalitions last week, Telecentre Europe’s member in Portugal Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) has just kicked-off the Portuguese Coalition for Digital Jobs (PC4DJ) consisting of 18 organisations from the public and private sector. Today a National Strategy and Action Plan for Digital Jobs will be presented together with the website for the Portuguese Coalition: www.empregabilidadedigital.pt.

PC4DJ aims to address the shortage of skilled digital technology practitioners and improve the integration of digital skills in labour market. Another important goal is to get citizens more digitally skilled focusing on specific groups (women, unemployed, etc.). The Coalition will also help to boost the growth of businesses and jobs in ICT.

Telecentre Europe is part of the Secretariat of the Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs to lead and facilitate National and Local Coalitions for Digital Jobs together with its members and partners. Recently the Dutch member ECP – Platform for the information society has also build The Netherlands National Coalition. Eight coalitions have now been set up by TE’s member organisations, with TE’s members as partners in another two, among 2o currently existing coalitions in Europe. More information about these 20 coalitions can be found in the toolkit for national and local coalitions.
