How can digital innovation help older adults live more independently, stay socially connected, and fully participate in society?
Join us for the final event of the SmartAgeCare project, “Empowering Older Adults for the Digital Age”, taking place on 21 May 2026, from 09:00 to 16:00 CET. The event will be held in a hybrid format, allowing participants to join either in person in Brussels or online.
SmartAgeCare is a European project focused on empowering older adults and caregivers through digital tools, training, and an innovative smart ageing ecosystem. It brings together partners across 8 European countries to develop practical solutions that support wellbeing, autonomy, and social inclusion for older adults. This event will gather policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and civil society actors to reflect on lessons learned and discuss future directions.

What to expect
This final event will bring together policymakers, researchers, practitioners, and civil society actors for a forward-looking exchange on the future of ageing in Europe.
The Programme will include:
- A policy focused panel discussion on challenges and opportunities for smart ageing in Europe
- Presentation of the SmartAgeCare framework, ecosystem, and key results
- Demonstration of the Smart Ageing Toolkit, showcasing its application in practice
- Insights from Delphi research, capacity building activities, and training programmes
- Presentation of the SmartAgeCare Action Plan and policy recommendations
- Opportunities for networking and stakeholder exchange
