Gabriela Barna started her career with the British Council in Romania. In 1999 she established EOS Romania Foundation with a vision to support digital inclusion in Romania. Over the past 20 years, Gabriela has worked in the field of ICT in education, ICT for social development, digital inclusion and monitoring and evaluation with a special focus on ICT for development. She also worked in an advisory capacity to the Ministry of Education in Romania, making a significant contribution to the introduction of the first ICT optional curriculum for secondary and high school students. Gabriela has worked as consultant in various European and Global programmes in the field of ICT4D and lifelong learning.
Gabriela has been involved in the telecentre movement for more than 20 years. Gabriela and EOS were one of the parties involved in the initial formation of the Telecentre-Europe community in 2007, and she served as a Board member in 2010-2014 and as Co-Chair of the Board during 2010-2012 working in some of the most engaging and successful digital inclusion projects and campaigns in Europe.
