International Webinar on Digital Storytelling with Roma Parents

The DREAMS project consortium invites you to participate in an International Webinar on Digital Storytelling with Roma Parents on 3 December 2020.

The webinar will present and illustrate an innovative methodology aimed at strengthening the collaboration between schools and Roma parents by empowering and supporting Roma parents to express their views and address issues like inclusion, discrimination, segregation, racism, bullying or violence in the form of short video materials.

Digital stories made by Roma parents from Belgium, Bulgaria, and Romania will be presented and discussed.

The direct and indirect benefits of using this methodology will also be analysed.

 

Who is the webinar for?

  • English speaking head teachers and teachers, especially from schools with Roma children involved in EU projects
  • Organisations having education programmes, supporting schools, training teachers, etc
  • Organisations having Roma programmes

 

Participants from different countries in Europe are invited!

15:15-15:30 Digital Storytelling methodology – Andreea Dima, MAKS vzw (Belgium). Challenges and opportunities when applying the methodology with Roma parents – Calin Rus, Intercultural Institute Timisoara.

15:30-15:45 Comments on the methodology from the perspective of the project partners: Silvia Vasileva, HESED (Bulgaria); Peter Palvolgyi, ALL DIGITAL AISBL (Belgium); Ion Goracel, Intercultural Institute Timisoara (Romania); Andreea Dima, MAKS vzw (Belgium).

15:45-16:00 Presentation of the stories done by parents in local languages (with English subtitles). Discussion among webinar participants

16:15-16:30 Project achievements, challenges, and plans by MAKS vzw and closing.
