FRSI disseminates modern information and communication technologies (ICT), strives to make it easier for the residents of small towns to gain access to information, knowledge, culture and education and inspires and encourages joint activity. The key project carried out by FRSI is the six-year (2009-2015) Library Development Program, to help Poland’s public libraries provide access to computers, the Internet, and training. The Program is a result of the partnership between the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Polish-American Freedom Foundation.

Apart from the Program, FRSI implements other projects to support development with ICT, among others “New technologies locally”, “E-skills and your future profession”, “About finances… in a library”, “Job Center. Explore your local library”. The projects are addressed to the representatives of NGOs, young people, seniors job seekers interested in the opportunities offered by ICT and willing to acquire new skills. In 2012 FRSI received the EC’s E-inclusion Award.
