This workshop will focus on enhancing critical thinking through visual media literacy, based on the CrAL project (Creative Audiovisual Lab for the promotion of critical thinking and media literacy).

Throughout this three-hour interactive session, we will provide an in-depth exploration of the project’s approach and specific methodology and offer first-hand experience with the CrAL methodology by focusing on visual dramaturgy, which is based on theoretical hypotheses and research practices developed by Dr. Annio Gioachino Stati and Dr. Mery Tortolini in the “Laboratorio di Immagine e scrittura Creativa” at the University La Sapienza of Rome. Additionally, we will discuss the national and international contests and showcase the winners, share valuable insights gathered from the participants in the course, and present policy recommendations.

The workshop is addressed to secondary school teachers and trainers working in non-formal environments, youth workers, and anyone interested in media literacy and critical thinking.
