In this activity, students observe different gnomes and try to work out their jobs by identifying simple patterns in their appearance. Together, they discuss possible rules, sort the gnomes into groups, and test whether their rules also work for new examples. In this playful way, students are introduced to the basic ideas of machine learning and classification models.
