International Women’s Day 2026 – Activities at Ivan Meštrović Secondary School Drniš (4–8 March)

First-year students – business economy clerks and second-year economics students at the Ivan Meštrović Secondary School in Drniš will carry out a series of activities to mark International Women’s Day 2026, taking place from 4 to 8 March. This year, our school will actively participate in this important global celebration, connecting school subjects with key social topics such as the rights and status of women in society.

The activities will be closely linked to teaching modules and subjects – Office Typewriting, Croatian Language, Foreign Language and Business Communications, as well as the elective subject Artificial Intelligence: From Concept to Application, which is being successfully delivered at our school. Students will carry out all activities within regular classes, connecting current events with curriculum content, thereby achieving an exceptional combination of educational goals – strengthening digital literacy, native and foreign language skills, and raising awareness of the importance of women’s rights and their role in society.

Events will be registered on the official International Women’s Day website and students’ works on the topic of Distinguished Women of Our Country will be published there. The most beautiful songs about women will be performed and recorded using ICT tools within the school premises, and a beautiful recital collage will be created. All of the above will bring our school visibility at the international level.

Students and teachers will also have the opportunity to attend the live international webinar Intelligence of Life: Women and the Future of Human Knowledge, to be organised on 8 March by The Economy of Francesco in cooperation with The Women for Economy Village. The webinar will be available via YouTube, allowing everyone to follow this significant international event. It will raise an important question – what kind of intelligence will shape the knowledge of the future? As economies become increasingly dependent on knowledge and innovation, forms of intelligence rooted in life, experience, relationships and care are gaining new importance, with women playing a key role in ensuring that knowledge remains deeply human. The event will open with an introductory lecture by the distinguished Professor Consuela Corradi, followed by a moderated international discussion with questions and answers.

Through the message of this year’s Lean In Girls campaign, we will encourage our students to develop confidence, resilience and inclusivity, and to take on the role of responsible and conscious leaders in their community – because that is where the true power of education lies.
