4th Global Forum on Telecentres will happen in Granada, Spain on 28-29 May 2013 #SPARK13

21 Oct, 2012

At the closing of Telecentre-Europe’s Summit in Warsaw, Miguel Raimilla from Telecentre.org Foundation announced that the next Global Forum on Telecentres will happen in Granada (Spain), on 28-29 May. The announcement was made through a video teaser that shows images from previous events and unveils the name “SPARK 2013” for the next edition of the event.

The Forum is a bi-annual event that provides technology leaders and telecentre advocates and practitioners from around the world with the platform for sharing knowledge as well as the opportunity to discuss issues surrounding the main theme and explore new and better ways to harness telecentres as agents for social development.

The Forum was first held during the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in Tunisia (Africa) in 2005, which also marked the launch of the telecentre.org program. In succeeding years, it was successfully hosted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Asia) in 2007, and in Santiago, Chile (Latin America) in 2011. The fourth edition in 2013 is co-organized by Telecentre.org FoundationTelecentre-Europe AISBL and the Community Association of Telecentre Networks and Social Innovation centres and will take place at the Granada Congress & Exhibition Centre.
